Solio Settlement Water Project

Over 20,000 residents of Solio settlement scheme in Laikipia County have access to clean water for domestic consumption and irrigation thanks to the construction of a 250,000 cubic metres tank distributing it to residents. The project cost Sh143 million and draws water from Aberdare Ranges to benefit the residents. The 31 kilomters pipeline from the slopes of Aberdares cuts through Kinyaite village in Nyeri that is one of the areas without access to piped water since independence. Laikipia County Water Executive Njenga Kahiro said the project is a landmark that will transform the locality for the interest of the people.
